About Gillian
Gillian Telling is a writer and editor living in New York City. Ok, who are we kidding, she lives in Brooklyn. Her journalistic endeavors have truly run the gamut, from writing about new music as an editor at Rolling Stone to covering men who masturbate in the office bathroom as an editor at Details. She’s currently best known for her work as the sex columnist for Maxim, where she divulges women’s dirty secrets to over a million readers each month.
It was her hard-hitting interviews with countless women for the sex column that led to the publishing of her first book, Dirty Girls: The Naked Truth About Our Guilty Secrets (Unpretty, Unclean, and Utterly Horrifying) (Sourcebooks, 2010). The humorous and often disgusting collection of stories takes a look at what women keep hidden behind their glossy, perfumed curtains—namely that they fart a lot when no one is around, and often enjoy looking at weird porn.
ACHTUNG! A German edition of Dirty Girls is on pre-sale right now and will be on shelves on May 20, 2011. (Bastei Lubbe). And A U.S. TV show based on the book is also currently being pitched.
Gillian is represented by Daniel Greenberg at Levine Greenberg Literary Agency in New York, and Adam Marshall at Energy Entertainment in Los Angeles.
