This happened to me once in Hong Kong during a layover years ago, and sadly I ended up eating at a Planet Hollywood instead of someplace actually good just because I felt so lost. But every town is full of hidden gems—sometimes it just helps to just be able to ask a local.

This is why we offer a service to our readers called “Tips From a Concierge.” In each issue, a concierge answers reader questions about the best things to do and see while visiting New York. (In this issue, we spoke to Noah Lemaich from the new boutique hotel, LES Thompson. If you ever wanted to know how to get into a speakeasy, turn to P. 26 for his thoughts!) But we know you have more questions than we have room to print, so we’ve launched a new, more personal service—if you submit a question for one of our New Yorkers-in-the-know, we guarantee you’ll have an answer via email within the same day. You might even be hearing from me personally.

Next time you’re planning a visit—or, even if you’re already here and want to make fun plans for the evening or next day and need some suggestions—email us at concierge@modernluxury.com. You’ll be sure to get a quick response, and we guarantee to send you somewhere fabulous. So go ahead and ask a local, and please, never eat at Planet Hollywood!
