I believe she was trying to tell me to do something about my horrific, untamed brows, and so, I have been plucking them into Cruella DeVille like arches ever since.

However, one quick visit with Robin Evans, New York’s most notorious eyebrow shaper, told me this look wasn’t quite right for me. (A mere 15 years too late!) At her private homey SoHo studio, she laid me down on an antique feather-bed massage table and deftly worked my brows into smooth, delicate arcs that peaked off-center instead. The result was stunning— though subtle, finally I had that mahogany frame suitable for my oval-shape face. Well, at least I had some amazing brows.

Robin Evans has been in the skincare business for more than 15 years, and beyond being a master brow-shaper, she’s an aesthetician who promotes clear skin from the inside out. She is sometimes available for same-day appointments, but only during the week. Weekends are swamped with stylish women (with fabulous brows) so try and book an appointment in advance.
